In Times of This Crisis, poorer are Not Alone:

Lalbagh Rising Sun Social Welfare & Social Welfare Education has had a history of being the first responder to any crisis that affect poor or their community adversely. The same applies to the current health emergency that has impacted all but some more than the others. All our resources, support staff, partner NGOs, and health experts have joined forces to stand up firmly in solidarity and support of the most affected and migrant workers , orphans, widows and deprived people living on the fringes struggling to make their way out of this emergency unscathed.
While we do not know as of now, how long this is going to last, but what we do know is that we will be the last one to leave.

According to the WHO the cases of Corona virus have been increasing rapidly in India, and a huge number of deaths have become the great concern for the country. About 67 crore people may be affected by this PANDEMIC in next few months. As the virus moves to low-income countries, most worrying is the impact, it could have among vulnerable and at-risk poor and communities living on the fringes of society.

Response to CORONAVIRUS:

We have responded to over Pandemic emergencies since March 2020, and we are fully equipped to address this contingency as well. We know what it takes. Lalbagh Rising Sun Social Welfare & Social Welfare Educationhas been undertaking sensitization activities across communities; however, through the adoption of ways to minimize the gathering of people. We have started mounting a humanitarian response, and around 2000 families have already been reached with relief items food materials and hygiene kits. WASH messages and precautionary and preventive messages are being shared across the society.

Our Response Is Currently Focused On Multi-Level Risk-Mitigation:

Bringing Immediate and short-term relief, food security, and health & hygiene kits  Enabling continued education, health & nutrition, and protection to most affected children  Ensuring long-term support for the most affected communities, including mental health for poor old people, livelihood for caregivers. Working with key stakeholders- the government, local bodies, partner NGO’s working for the cause of children and policy holders to ensure poorer’s needs are prioritized in these dire times. Lalbagh Rising Sun Social Welfare & Educational Society (NGOs) have come forward to help pandemic victims by distributing face masks to the poor people in Murshidabad District. 200 face masks were distributed at the Berhampore Block Murshidabad. “We plan to distribute 5000 face masks to the migrant workers, widows , orphans and the poor people of the society.” A total of 10 volunteers from the three NGOs were involved in the distribution.
